The Wizarding World of the late 1800s comes to life in Hogwarts Legacy, a huge open-world game. There are so many things to do and magical events in the game that most people will miss a lot of them.
Even after playing Hogwarts Legacy for hundreds of hours, would-be wizards and witches are still learning more secrets. Some of these hidden features give players a real edge, but the vast majority are just for fun. To find these secrets, players need to try all the different spells on all kinds of items, even ones that don’t seem to be interactive at first.
Freeze Fireplaces And Enter Them
Glacius, the freezing spell, is one of the most underrated spells in Hogwarts Legacy, and most players don’t know one of its secret uses. In the game, there are a few big stoves, and players can use Glacius to freeze the fire and climb through it.
Players will always find loot behind these fires, but sometimes they will also find interesting secret rooms like the one behind Professor Sharp’s bedroom in the Faculty Tower. One of the best parts of the game is finding secret rooms in Hogwarts. Players can’t help but think that future troublemakers like the Marauders and the Weasley twins might also find these rooms.
Go To Azkaban
Near the beginning of the story, there are some quests that can only be done by members of a certain House. These quests are all different, but they all lead to the ghost of Richard Jackdaw. Because of this, most Hogwarts Legacy players who weren’t put into Hufflepuff won’t know that they can go to Azkaban.
“Prisoner of Love,” a Hufflepuff-only task, is by far the best, and it’s reason enough to try a Hufflepuff playthrough. In this quest, players will go to the famous wizarding prison. And try to find out where Jackdaw is by talking to a poor prisoner.
Use Wingardium Leviosa In Combat
Wingardium Leviosa is one of the most famous spells in the Harry Potter world. And Professor Garlick can teach it to players. Players will quickly figure out that the levitation charm is very useful for solving riddles and exploring in general.
What Professor Garlick and Spacebar Clicker game don’t tell players is that Wingardium Leviosa can also be used to kill in battle. Even though it’s hard at first, players can lift interactable items like rocks and swing them at enemies. This can be done as many times as the player wants. Unlike the Ancient Magic throw, which can only throw an item once before making it useless.
Decorate The Great Hall In Your House Colors
“The Polyjuice Plot,” one of the most fun tasks in Hogwarts Legacy, has a unique interaction that most players will have missed. During “The Polyjuice Plot,” players go undercover as Headmaster Black by using Polyjuice Potion.
Before talking to Scrope, who is cleaning the Owl Lectern, players can click on the lectern to give a quick speech to the Hogwarts students and say that the decorations need to be changed. Then, the flags of the player’s House will be put up around the Great Hall.
Mount A Broom Mid-Air Or On Water
The broomstick is the best and most versatile mount in Hogwarts Legacy, especially when it’s fully improved. Aside from how fast and agile it is in the air, one of the best things about the broom is how quickly you can get on it, which lets you get away quickly.
But what many players don’t know is that they can get on their brooms. Even when they’re falling, which can make for some epically tense times. Players can also take off on their broom while swimming in water, which is less exciting but still fun. This is important to know when you are digging for treasure.
Have A Snowball Fight
One of the most beautiful things about Hogwarts Legacy is how the seasons change as the story goes on. Every season has its own beauty, but Christmas in Hogwarts and Hogsmeade is truly magical.
When winter comes to the Scottish Highlands, players may also find a snowman here or there. Most players don’t know that if they hit these figures, they will throw a snowball back at them. Even more of a secret is that players can use the two fire spells Incendio. And Confringo to melt these snowmen, and then the Glacius spell to rebuild them.
Transfigure Any Animal
Later on in Hogwarts Legacy, players will learn the Transfiguration spell from Professor Weasley. They will soon discover how powerful it can be in combat, especially when combined with its Spell Talent upgrade.
What many players don’t know, though, is that in Hogwarts Legacy, all of the animals and cutest magical creatures can be turned into funny and unique things. Sheep, for example, can be turned into balls of wool that have been spun. And Highland cattle can be turned into big wooden carts with horns on them.
Hogwarts Legacy is now available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Versions for PS4 and Xbox One will be out on May 5, and a Switch version will be out on July 25.
