How to Register for Udyam Online?

With effect from July 1st 2020, Udyam Registration will take the role of MSME Registration/Udyog Aadhar, which belonged to the previous registration system where a UAM Number was generated. You must register for a new Udyam Registration even if you currently have an MSME Registration or Udyog Aadhar because they are no longer valid as of July 1, 2020.

Anyone whose firm qualifies as an MSME and whose Aadhaar card is linked to a working mobile number may register their company and take advantage of a wide range of incentives under the Ministry’s different programmes. First, let’s talk about the MSME notification classification.

MSME Definition & Classification

In accordance with the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act of 2006, the Government of India coined the term MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise). The Indian government provides MSMEs with a wide range of advantages so they can operate smoothly both in the Indian and international markets. It was started by the Ministry of MSME (MoMSME) and is controlled by that organisation. MSMEs are companies that produce, manufacture, process, or preserve products and commodities. 

Qualities of Udyam

• A 19-digit permanent registration number with lifetime validity is the Udyam registration number.
• There can only be one Udyam registration per business. However, a single enterprise registration can include a number of manufacturing operations and services.
• All businesses with a UAM, EM-II, or other Ministry of MSME registration are need to re-register with the Udyam programme as of July 1, 2020. Since these registrations will expire and you will need to submit an application for new registration.
• It is a free registration certificate for your company and there are no fees associated with the procedure at any point.
• The entire Udyam registration process is conducted online, without the use of paper, and using self-declared data.
• The Udyam Registration Certificate will also be distributed online and include a dynamic QR Code that can be used to retrieve the business’s information.
• To register as an MSME, you must have an Aadhaar.
• Your PAN and GST information on business investments and revenue will be automatically synchronised from other government databases.
• The punishment specified in section 27 applies to anybody who willfully falsifies or makes an effort to conceal the self-declared data and figures included in the registration or update process.

• It increases the likelihood that the company will be approved for additional loans and gives it the advantage in other legal situations.
• The government also runs a number of programmes where loans are given to SMEs at cheap interest rates for their benefit.
• The government also conducts a variety of programmes that provide low-interest loans to SMEs for their benefit.
• The government assists authorised enterprises in recouping postponed payments.
• Discounted IPR Registration Fees are offered.
• It offers advantages from different tax exemptions as well as extra advantages in SEZ.
• Businesses that have registered are given preferential consideration when applying for government contracts and have access to government trade portals.
• All MSMEs that register in accordance with the requirements will be eligible for some type of compensation for ISO certification.
• A registered business will meet the requirements for power bill breaks.

Procedures for Registration

Any business that meets the requirements of the MSME Act can apply for Udaym Registration under that Act via the Udyam Registration portal based solely on self-declaration. Without the need to upload any supporting documentation.

A permanent identification number known as the “‘Udyam Registration Number” will be given to an organisation upon registration. Upon successful completion of the registration process, an electronic certificate called the “Udyam Registration Certificate” will be granted. This certificate is valid for life unless it is revoked. You can register online by performing the actions listed below:

• Go to the Udyam website.
• Complete the online registration form with all necessary information, including identification details, personal information, social and gender categories, addresses, company incorporation information, NIC codes, bank details, etc.
• You will be given a registration number once you submit the application form and supporting documentation. The files that must be submitted are:

• PAN Card
• Aadhar Card
• Business Address Verification
• Copies of the Purchase Bill and Sale Bill
• AoA, MoA, and Partnership Deed
• Copy of Purchased Machinery Bills and Licences

• Your Udyam Registration number will be generated right away and sent to you once your application has been submitted successfully.
