Batman & DC’s Multiverse Teased In New Flash Movie Poster
DC and Warner Bros. have unveiled a brand-new Flash movie poster that promises the worlds will collide. The image features Ezra Miller as Barry Allen standing inside Michael Keaton’s Batcave, signifying how quickly events will unfold.
On June 16th, 2023, Andy Muschietti will direct the new Flash movie which is inspired by the comic book arc Flashpoint which sees Barry Allen alter time in order to save his mother.
However, it also creates a dystopian alternate universe in which Bruce Wayne has passed away. This results in Thomas Wayne as the younger version of Batman taking up the mantle of Batman and using his own brutal methods to fight crime.
No matter the controversy surrounding Miller’s role, Warner Bros. remains committed to their classic Dark Knight franchise. That’s why they released this poster before a trailer debuted during this weekend’s Super Bowl.
The Flash is a Reboot
The Flash, a DC Extended Universe film, will hit theaters on June 16. Directed by Andy Muschietti from Christina Hodson’s screenplay, The Flash stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash alongside Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdu, Antje Traue and Ben Affleck.
In the movie, The Flash embarks on an extraordinary journey through the multiverse after unintended consequences have been caused to his timeline. Along the way, he encounters an elderly Batman (Michael Keaton), much older and much further along in his career than Barry Allen is at present.
Rumors swirl that the trailer for The Flash may debut during Super Bowl LVII on Sunday. It will be one of several previews airing during the big game between Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs and is believed to give viewers their first look at Miller’s costume as the Flash (Jimmy Gaffigan). Unfortunately, no other major characters will be revealed in this trailer.
Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen Is the Flash
If you’re a fan of Grant Gustin’s version of Barry Allen on The CW, then you might have noticed Ezra Miller has his own take on Barry Allen. His portrayal is much less faithful to comic book accuracy than Grant Gustin’s character in The Flashverse.
Miller’s version of the Scarlet Speedster offers an interesting alternative. His take on the character is humorous, spontaneous, and much more endearing than Gustin’s.
Even with all the controversy surrounding Miller, The Flash has been receiving positive feedback in test screenings and is expected to be one of Warner Bros.’ most beloved movies ever – an impressive development given how often DCEU films fail at box office success.
But the question still lingers: will Warner Bros. allow Miller to continue portraying The Flash in future DC Universe movies? This is an incredibly important question for fans.
The Flash is a Batman Movie
In the upcoming TV show The Flash, Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) will venture into various parallel universes where he’ll encounter slightly altered versions of DC’s classic heroes. One character who will make their DC Cinematic Universe debut is Michael Keaton’s Batman from Tim Burton’s 1989 film: the Dark Knight!
Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the Caped Crusader after three decades. Digital artist Sonnyfive created this artwork, featuring an impressive reimagination of Keaton’s Bat suit, to commemorate his return.
Andy Muschietti’s directorial debut, It, takes place during the events of 2011’s Flashpoint storyline. It follows super speedster Tony as he attempts to go back in time to save his mother and drastically alters present timeline.
