In Skyrim, repair isn’t something to laugh at. Here are the most powerful powers of the school.
In The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, players who use magic can choose from a wide range of spells to use in different scenarios. As the player levels up, they get access to stronger spells. When they reach level 100 in a certain magic school, they can buy powerful Master level spells, but they can only do so after finishing a quest for the College of Winterhold professor who teaches that skill.
The Restoration skill is useful for all kinds of builds because it protects players from magic, gives them powerful spells to kill monsters, and lets them heal wounds. Players can become unbeatable if they know how to use the Restoration school well and know its most powerful spells.
Heal Undead
This kind of power might seem out of place in a school whose main goal is to fight undead, but it can be very useful for necromancer builds or players with vampire followers like Serana.
Most healing spells don’t work on undead, so this 75-point healing spell is a must-have for players who depend on them. Ronthil in Castle Volkihar is the place to go to buy it.
Poison Rune
This spell was added by the Dragonborn DLC, and you can buy it from Talvas Fathryon in Tel Mithryn after you help him fix a problem with his calling.
The spell puts a rune on the ground that blasts when an enemy gets close. Anyone in range takes 90 points of poison damage over 30 seconds (3 points per second) from the explosion. The damage also adds to the damage done by other poison effects, even those from other poison runes. It can be a strong option to the three Destruction rune spells that come with Skyrim game.
Heal Other
This spell would be very useful for people who travel with a friend. Heal Other, as its name suggests, returns 75 health points to living targets. This can be very important for keeping followers alive during tough boss fights.
This spell’s book can be found in Shalidor’s Maze. Snd at level 23, it starts to show up as random loot. When the player’s Restoration skill gets to level 40, Colette Marence at the College of Winterhold will start selling it.
Stendarr’s Aura
This spell was added by the Dawnguard DLC and can be bought from Florentius Baenius at Fort Dawnguard (after he is saved during Bolstering the Ranks). It is great for paladins, clerics, or anyone else who fights undead.
It works like the cloak spells from the Destruction school in that it creates an aura of light around the player that lasts for 60 seconds and does 10 points of damage per second to any undead in close range.
Close Wounds
In Skyrim, the player has access to a number of self-healing skills. Close Wounds is the best and most useful of these, even though it is not the most powerful. It gives 100 Health points quickly, costs 126 Magicka, and only takes half a second to cast. So it is very useful for getting players out of dangerous situations.
Close Wounds can be bought from Colette Marence or gotten as a reward for finishing the Pilgrimage quest when the player’s Restoration skill is at level 40. It can also be found as loot starting at level 23.
Turn Greater Undead
This is the most powerful of the three Turn Undead spells. It can be bought from Colette Marence when the Restoration skill hits level 65. And it can be found as random loot at level 35.
It works like the Fear spell from the Illusion school, but on undead. For 30 seconds, undead up to level 21 will run away. It can even help against zombies that are stronger than this level, since they won’t run away but will stumble. It’s a good crowd-control spell, and every player should have it because the caves of Skyrim are full of undead.
Vampire’s Bane
Vampire’s Bane works against all undead, not just vampires, despite its name. It is a projectile spell that sends out a ball of light that explodes violently when it hits. Any zombies within a 15-foot radius take 40 damage.
You also don’t have to worry about any fighting followers getting hurt (unless they are undead). Since it doesn’t hurt the living at all. So, it is a great way to fight undead instead of using the Fireball power. Players can get it by going to Fort Dawnguard and buying it from Florentius Baenius.
Grand Healing
Close Wounds might be the best healing spell in terms of how much Magicka it takes. But Grand Healing is by far the most strong. It heals the user and every friend within 15 feet by 200 points, or 300 points with the Regeneration perk. But it costs 254 Magicka to use, so it may be better to use Close Wounds in many cases.
But Grand Healing is a very important skill to have when the player and their allies need to quickly heal a lot of Health. Like all Eggy Car level Restoration spells, Colette Marence sells it when the player’s Restoration skill hits level 65, and it can be found in random loot starting at level 35.
Greater Ward
The Lesser Ward spell is one of the first ones that players learn when they join the College of Winterhold. Greater Ward is just a stronger version of that spell. It can be found as chance loot at level 23 and can be bought from Colette Marence at level 40 in Restoration.
Greater Ward can stop up to 80 points of damage from magic. So only the strongest mages can get through it. But it costs a lot of Magicka, so it should only be used when it’s most useful.
Bane of the Undead
Bane of the Undead is like Turn Greater Undead in that it makes undead enemies up to level 30 run away for 30 seconds. But this flight is useless because it causes them to catch on fire for 4 seconds and take 200 points of fire damage. Only the biggest zombies would be able to make it through.
Bane of the Undead is a Master-level spell that a player can get. When their Restoration skill hits level 100 and they finish the Restoration Ritual Spell quest. It costs 988 Magicka to cast and takes 3 seconds to charge. So it’s best to use it when you’re surrounded by a lot of undead enemies.
